Gadwal sarees are one of the finest weaves of Indian heritage. These sarees are woven in and surroundings of Gadwal in Telangana. They are completely handwoven using high quality silk, cotton and zari.

The notable features of these Gadwal sarees is that while the body of the saree consists of cotton or silk or silk cotton, the border and pallu is always 100% silk and zari. Another feature of this saree is in its weaving technique. The body and the border are woven separately and attached during weaving, making the saree have two joints, one horizontal and one vertical. This technique is called kuttu or korvai  or kuppadam, which gives the saree a contrast rich and bright look. Gadwal sarees are known for their bright rich colour contrasts and have very elegant look.
